Protection For Your Mac Great Web Sites For
Mac Users One of the biggest
challenges when using the Internet is to not get overwhelmed
by the vast amount of information that's available
there. Here is a listing of
some web sites that I've found to be especially useful to
Mac users. I hope you also will find these sites to be a
valuable resource and that this list will reduce the amount
of time you have to spend looking for helpful Mac web
sites. By the way, when you
want to either print or save information that's on these
sites, I believe you will find using either
WebPrint
Plus or
InfoManager
to be very useful. Finding Information
About Macs MacSurfer:
www.macsurfer.com MacFixIt:
www.macfixit.com In addition to
valuable real-world information from users about Mac-related
issues and solutions, this wonderful site contains
informative reports on special topics, a library of useful
freeware and shareware, a vast and easily searchable
database of Mac-related problems/bugs and fixes, and a forum
where users can exchange information with each other via the
Internet. MacCentral:
www.maccentral.com MacInTouch:
www.macintouch.com Shopping For Mac
Equipment And Software There are some great
bargains available on the Internet -- if you know where to
look for them! dealmac:
dealmac.com The site is frequently
updated and highly recommended (it can also be accessed from
the MacSurfer site), though I've occasionally found its
listings not to be accurate. CNET/Shopper:
shopper.cnet.com Additionally, CNET
posts product reviews for many hardware items and lists
reviews for products that have been submitted by
users. CNET also provides a
"price drop alert" service that will notify you if the
item(s) you are interested in has been reduced in price.

This is a great starting point! The MacSurfer site lists and
links to many of the best Mac sites on the Internet.
Additionally, the MacSurfer site is nicely organized, lists
highlights of each site's latest postings, and updates this
list several times a day.
Arguably, this is the best Mac troubleshooting site on the
Internet! (Some even say it's more useful than Apple's own
web site.)
While being a highly respected resource for news items,
occasional product reviews, and special reports, MacCentral
also maintains active user forums.
This is a
highly regarded site that lists news items, includes special
reports on Mac issues, and has a searchable database of
previously posted items.
This site
scours the Internet for bargains on software and hardware
(it even maintains a page that lists vendors' discount
coupons). You also have the option of searching for specific
products. Additionally, some vendors run special offers just
for dealmac's visitors.
With CNET, you can search for an item and get a list of
vendors that carry the item and their prices for it -- this
greatly simplifies comparative-price
shopping!
